Identifying Candidates for Referral
Not all patients require surgical interventions, and many can benefit from non-invasive or minimally invasive treatments. Therefore, it’s important to identify patients who may be ideal candidates for vascular procedures.
Patients who experience the following conditions should be considered for referral:
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) – Those suffering from poor circulation, leg pain, or wounds that won’t heal.
Venous Diseases – Individuals with varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), or deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Chronic Pain Conditions – Patients with chronic knee pain (osteoarthritis), shoulder pain, or nerve-related discomfort.
Uterine Fibroids – Women experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, or fibroid-related symptoms.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) – Men suffering from urinary difficulties due to an enlarged prostate.
Chronic Hemorrhoids – Individuals with persistent rectal bleeding, itching, or discomfort that hasn’t responded to conservative treatment.
Dialysis Access & Vascular Stenosis – Patients requiring dialysis access maintenance, fistulograms, or angioplasty.
At Prospero Vascular Clinic, we value our partnership with referring providers and strive to offer seamless, high-quality patient care. Our goal is to work alongside primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide minimally invasive, image-guided vascular treatments that enhance patient outcomes.
When conservative treatments are no longer effective, patients may benefit from advanced, non-surgical vascular procedures. At Prospero Vascular Clinic, we specialize in minimally invasive interventional radiology (IR) treatments that help patients avoid major surgery, experience shorter recovery times, and achieve significant symptom relief.
Moreover, we ensure a collaborative approach, keeping referring providers informed every step of the way—from initial evaluation to post-treatment follow-up. This means your patients receive specialized care while maintaining continuity with their primary physician or specialist.
If a patient is not responding to conventional treatments, they may be an excellent candidate for minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures.
